Ramallah (The Inside Palestine)- Cancer has spread to other areas of Palestinian prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid’s body, including in the brain and bones, according to a new medical report.

In a statement on Thursday, the Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs said that Abu Hamid suffers from a sharp drop in weight, severe pains all over his body and continuous muscle weakness.

As a result of his worsening health suffering, the prisoner is unable to walk and breathe, so he is confined to a wheelchair and uses an oxygen cylinder all the time.

The Commission pointed out that Abu Hamid urgently needs physical therapy in order for him to able to move his limbs, affirming that he is only given painkillers after doctors halted his chemotherapy recently.

The Commission appealed to international and local organizations and parties to intervene to have prisoner Abu Hamid released and to work on providing him with his most basic rights and the necessary medical treatment to alleviate his suffering.
