Jerusalem (The Inside Palestine)-  The Israeli occupation army has detained 690 Palestinian citizens, including 119 children and 30 women, over the past month, according to Palestinian prisoners’ rights organisations.

As of late October, the number of Palestinian detainees being held in Israeli occupation prisons has reached around 4,760, including 30 women, 160 minors, and 820 administrative detainees, the advocacy groups said in a joint statement.

Jerusalem saw the highest number of Palestinians detained by the Israeli occupation army, with 343 Palestinians, including 12 children, 80 minors, and 24 women, detained last month.

Over the past month, Israeli courts have issued 219 administrative detention orders against Palestinians, 84 were issued for the first time while the rest of them were made to renew the detention of Palestinians without charge.

The NGOs pointed out that the Israeli occupation army detained last month 119 children and minors, who were subjected to grave rights abuses during their detention.

The Israeli occupation is holding approximately 160 children in its prisons.

The rights organisations reported a spike in administrative detention against Palestinians as the Israeli occupation army conducted large-scale detention campaigns targeting Palestinian ex-detainees, most of whom were moved to administrative detention.

So far this year, the number of wounded Palestinian detainees being incarcerated in Israeli occupation jails has risen to over 35 who sustained various injuries after being shot by Israeli occupation forces during their detention.
