Jerusalem (The Inside Palestine)- A Palestinian journalist under house arrest continues to be banned by Israel from using social media after her Tuesday hearing at an Israeli court was pushed back.
Lama Ghosheh, 30, was arrested by Israel at home in occupied East Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood in early September, which has been targeted by Israeli authorities and settlers for mass expulsions.
It came in response to her social media posts, principally her interviews with Palestinians previously detained by Israel, according to Wafa.
Her work on efforts by Israeli settlers to take homes from Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah also contributed to her arrest, the news agency added.
She was eventually released on 13 September after being held for more than a week.
Ghosheh, a journalist for Jerusalem news website Al-Qastal, was let go provided she stays off social media and remains at her home until her court hearing, which has been pushed back to 20 December, Wafa reported.
Her release also came with bail set at $15,000. In May, renowned Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh was shot dead by Israeli forces while covering a military raid on the Jenin refugee camp.
Sheikh Jarrah came under the spotlight after Israeli settlers attempted to have Palestinians kicked out of their homes, which they want for themselves.
The El-Kurd twins, Mohammed and Muna, famous for their activist work, are from the neighbourhood.
